About Joy Valencia
I’m Joy Valencia — a U.S.-born food blogger, trained chef, and passionate storyteller with Colombian roots. I’m here to share simple, delicious meals inspired by my heritage, my professional kitchen experience in New York, and the joyful chaos of motherhood. You’ll be amazed at how soulful and nourishing food becomes when it’s made with intention and love.
Raised in a tight-knit Colombian family, I grew up in a kitchen where food was celebration, comfort, and connection. Now, as a mom of two little ones, I know firsthand how busy life gets — and how important it is to have recipes that feel homemade, doable, and full of flavor. On weekdays, I turn to comforting dishes like my Chicken Arepas or one-pot pasta. On weekends, I simmer rich stews like my Abuela’s Sancocho — and freeze extras for later. Every meal is made with corazón (heart), just like I share in my posts.
Our Team
I may be the face behind ArchivRecipes, but I’m not cooking alone. Behind every recipe, tip, and taste test is a small but mighty team of people I trust and love. From my cousin Miguel’s bold flavors to Becky’s irresistible desserts and Rachel’s weeknight dinner magic — they help bring this blog to life. Together, we cook, test, laugh, and share, so that every recipe feels like it came straight from our family to yours.
