Instructions
- Prepare the Vanilla Beans:
- Slice each vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the seeds using the back of a knife. Set the seeds aside.
- Cut the remaining pods into small pieces.
- Create the Base Mixture:
- In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Simmer with Vanilla Pods:
- Add the chopped vanilla pods to the sugar syrup. Simmer gently for 10 minutes, allowing the vanilla pods to infuse the mixture.
- Blend the Mixture:
- Transfer the syrup and vanilla pods to a high-speed blender. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the Paste:
- Pass the blended mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean bowl to remove any coarse pieces.
- Combine Ingredients:
- Stir in the reserved vanilla seeds, vanilla extract, and vegetable glycerin (if using) until fully incorporated.
- Store and Enjoy:
- Transfer the paste to a sterilized jar or airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 6 months.
